When our clients entrusted their 4 bhk apartment at DLF The Crest, to us to create modern contemporary interiors, it threw up many possibilities at us. And after understanding their sensibilities further we zeroed in on an environment that is soothing and luxurious with exquisite touches of gilded edges and innovative shapes.
For a contemporary look, we started out with a beige and cream palette with furniture in warm shades, accessories and some surface accents in gold. The mostly neutral backgrounds – walls, flooring and even carpets included – play host to furniture pieces in interesting shapes and textures. Rich stones and marbles lend a characteristic beauty to the space. Lavish sofas in various shapes and stitches; coffee tables in diverse contours and dimensions – large rectangular stone topped coffee table with multiple legs in gold polish, smaller oval and diamond shaped tables with legs again in gold create interest in the living area. The bar unit with hints of gold features a counter in an avant garde shape. The classical features of the console table at the entrance foyer are in gold too, and reflected in the mirror on the wall opposite, they offer an exquisite welcome.
Mirrors, wooden paneling on the walls and metal screens with gold polish enhance a sense of space and sophistication throughout the house. The choice of large contemporary pendant lights – from grand to minimal – further complement the modern atmosphere. Exclusive accessories and sculptures in gold, spires with gilt touches further accentuate the luxury vibe. The bedrooms are in a soothing neutral palette with soft colours introduced through the furniture for an elegant look. Fully padded beds with sumptuous textiles ensure perfect comfort.
